Renowned electronic music, soul, and rock band UDD (Up Dharma Down) is turning up the heat with their new single titled “Nanaman,” released on June 7. The new track follows the success of the previously released track “Run Deep,” which featured UDD’s heavy leanings into electronic music.
With the previous single marking the band’s debut with Viva Records, this time around sees the band—Paul Yap, Ean Mayor, and Carlos Tañada—sonically shifting gears. Soundwise, “Nanaman” is a pivot for UDD from their previous track’s heavy all-electronic vibe to a more pop-infused melodicism this time out.
Joining UDD lead-vocalist Paul Yap is Trisha Lorenzo who can be heard harmonizing with Paul’s vibing, low-key delivery. Also featured on “Nanaman” is percussionist Aman Thaddeus Dela Cruz. “Nanaman” is produced by UDD with Francis Lorenzo. Mayor, Yap and Tañada have shared that UDD is ratcheting up their releases this year. “This is a prelude to the album the band is working on,” shared Yap in a previous interview.
New and longtime listeners of UDD can look forward to more releases from the band this year, as confirmed by Yap. “We have two more tracks on the way following this release.”
“Nanaman” was released under Viva Records and is now available on all the popular streaming platforms.
