A new collection of 10best.com Reader’s Choice polls has hit the internet, and this time the focus is on fall. Michigan was well-represented in several of these polls, including Mackinac Island for Best Place to Visit for Fall. We love visiting Mackinac Island, known for its fudge shops, historical attractions, and lack of vehicles. Today we will take a look at the case for this popular Michigan vacation destination to take home the top spot in this nationwide contest.

Some of the top spots for fall foliage viewing on the island are Arch Rock, the M-185 shoreline bicycle route, Fort Holmes, Fort Mackinac, and the island’s interior. The Great Turtle Trail Run takes place on October 26th, while Halloween weekend activities run October 25-27. This is typically the last week of island businesses all being open before they close up shop for winter.
