Renowned astrologer Zenaida Seva passed away, as confirmed by her friend, writer Jessica Zafra, on March 21.
In a series of Instagram Stories, Jessica shared the news, emphasizing she received a text message from Zenaida’s phone, “I just got a text from Zenaida Seva’s phone informing me that she has died.”
She recalled their moments, calling her a “wise friend” and “movie buddy” in the ’90s and early ’00s. Despite admitting that she’s always “on the fence” about astrology, she stressed that Zenaida is “always right.”
“She taught me everything was connected. If you knew her or watched her every morning on TV for the day’s horoscope, take a moment to remember her today.”
Jessica also shared, “She said there are many charlatans out there, and a true astrologer only needs your exact birth details (day, time, place), pencil and paper, and an ephemeris (a book with tables of astronomical objects, positions, and trajectories) to tell you the story of your life.”
She said on her post that Zenaida’s wake and urn viewing will take place in Chapel C, the Mortuary Chapels, Christ the King Parish Greenmeadows in Quezon City from March 22 at 12 noon to March 24 at 10:30 p.m.
The cause of her death has yet to be disclosed.
Zenaida was part of the ABS-CBN’s morning show “Umagang Kay Ganda,” where she shared daily astrological forecasts with viewers. At the beginning of each year, she would make an appearance on “TV Patrol” to deliver her predictions for the coming months.
She is also known for her iconic line, “Hindi hawak ng bituin ang ating kapalaran. Gabay lamang sila. Mayroon tayong free will, gamitin natin ito.”
May she rest in peace.
