A strong sense of place can deeply influence a story, and in some cases, the setting can even feel like a character itself. This week’s literary geography quiz is all about Berlin, Germany’s capital city. The novels highlighted within the quiz were published in English within the past 85 years and told from the viewpoint of a visitor or expatriate experiencing the city. But even if you are unfamiliar with the specific titles, the questions are about Berlin’s landmarks — and the books form a handy reading list.
To play, just make your selection in the multiple-choice list and the correct answer will be revealed. Links to the books will be listed at the end of the quiz if you’d like to do further reading.
