Her Locket, a family drama screened in international film festivals abroad, is coming home to the Philippines.

The film will make its Philippine premiere on September 4, 2024, at the Gateway Cineplex in Cubao as part of the Sinag Maynila Film Festival 2024.

Prior to the Philippine premiere, the film was screened at the Marche Du Film at the Festival De Cannes in France, the London East Asia International Film Festival in the UK, the Dhaka International Film Festival in Bangladesh, and the Wu Wei International Film Festival in Taiwan.

Rebecca Chuaunsu bagged the Best Actress Award at the Festival International du Film Transsaharien de Zagora in Morocco in 2023.

Her Locket will also participate in the San Diego Film Festival in the USA in October of 2024.

Her Locket tells the story of Jewel Ouyang, a senior Chinese woman who has lost everything – her youth, beauty, popularity, and fortune. Now with dementia, she lives with her lawyer son and a young caregiver who seems more ambitious than caring. She finds an old locket that lets her recall memories from her past.

These memories include her family’s opposition to her career and love life, a happy marriage cut short by her husband’s untimely death, of achieving success as an actress, and her brother tampering her father’s will to rob her of her inheritance.

Her Locket stars Rebecca Chuaunsu, Elora Españo, Boo Gabunada, Sophie Ng, and Benedict Cua. Francis Mata, Jian Repolles, Tommy Alejandrino, Zoey Villamangca, Norman Ong, Nellie Ang See, Angela Villarin, Ashlee Factor, Matthew Seaver Choy, Roberto Uy Kieng, George See, Rolando Inocencio, Atty. Kesterson Kua, Atty. Allan Jao, and Dr. Philip Tan Gatue complete the cast.

The film is J.E. Tiglao’s second feature film after Metamorphosis, which won the Best Director Award in Cinema One Originals in 2019.
