From the racetrack to the beach, Landal Zandvoort offers the perfect balance for a relaxing weekend on the Dutch coast. This holiday park in Zandvoort is located within walking distance of both the beach and the famous Zandvoort F1 circuit, making it a unique place to stay for beach lovers, families and motorsport fans.

You surely still remember our fantastic stay at Landal Hof van Saksen. It was our first introduction to the Landal holiday parks. We were immediately enthusiastic and also knew that we would definitely return to a Landal again if the opportunity arose.

In short: Landal Zandvoort is a great holiday park in Zandvoort if you want to stay close to the beach, the dunes and Circuit Zandvoort. The location is the biggest reason to book this park, especially for a weekend away on the Dutch coast or a visit to the Zandvoort F1 circuit.

That opportunity came a while ago. We had booked a nice weekend away on the Dutch coast, in Zandvoort. We were going to go on an organized walk there. As it turned out, Landal has a beautiful park in Zandvoort. So the choice was quickly made.

With the experiences at Hof van Saksen still fresh in our minds, we headed towards Zandvoort with great enthusiasm. In this review of our stay at Landal Zandvoort, we share our experience with the location, accommodation, facilities and things to do nearby.

Location of Landal Zandvoort

Wherever we go and whatever we book, for us, location is always one of the most important criteria when booking accommodation. When you think of Zandvoort, you naturally think immediately of two things: the beach and the Formula 1 circuit. In our view, a perfect location for accommodation in Zandvoort is therefore one where you are within walking distance of both the beach and the circuit.

It just so happens that Landal Zandvoort is exactly that accommodation with such a perfect location.

Landal Zandvoort is situated on the main road. In terms of accessibility by car, that is of course absolutely perfect. Zandvoort train station is a little further away, about a half-hour walk. That is a bit more difficult with large suitcases or a family with children.

The park is located right next to the entrance of the famous Zandvoort race circuit. In fact, the circuit runs largely behind the park. There are even cottages from which you can see the circuit, a real treat for racing and car enthusiasts.

So, while the track lies on one side of the park, the beach and the sea are on the other. You only have to cross the street and you are on the beach. It does not get much better than that.

As far as we are concerned, Landal Zandvoort truly has the perfect location. The circuit, the beach, the shops of Zandvoort and the beautiful dunes are all within walking distance.

Zandvoort Beach

Zandvoort Beach is roughly 9 kilometers long and stretches from Bloemendaal to Noordwijk. It offers 9 kilometers full of relaxation, activities, food, drinks and nature.

Zandvoort Beach is a wonderful place to get a breath of fresh air all year round. In the spring and summer months, you will find over 30 high-quality beach pavilions along the beach, each with its own specialties and atmosphere. In the winter months, you can visit one of the 5 year-round pavilions.

We do not live near the sea ourselves, so for us, a visit to the coast is always something special.

During our visit to Zandvoort, we participated in the 30 van Zandvoort, a popular annual walking event. A large part of this route takes you along the beach towards IJmuiden after you have walked the circuit. Of course, it was incredibly special to walk nearly 10 kilometers directly along the water on the beach.

It became even more special when we encountered a seal along the way. It was lying there chilling comfortably on the beach. So keep a close eye out if you visit Zandvoort, because seals seem to be frequent visitors to Zandvoort.

A stay at Landal Zandvoort is naturally all about the sea and the beach. The park is situated in the dunes, and you can see and hear the sea when sitting outside on your terrace. Pure enjoyment.

Zandvoort F1 circuit

Zandvoort has become enormously famous in the Netherlands and internationally in recent years due to the return of the Formula 1 race at the Zandvoort circuit. There had been no racing in Zandvoort for more than 30 years, until Max Verstappen stepped into the world of Formula 1 and the mission to bring Formula 1 back to Zandvoort began. After a number of very successful years, the last Formula 1 race will be held in Zandvoort in 2026, for the time being. If you are planning to attend this race, Landal Zandvoort is highly recommended. Lovely luxury cottages within walking distance of the circuit.

We are big Formula 1 fans ourselves, so being so close to a circuit is really cool. In fact, during the 30 van Zandvoort walk, we even got to do one lap on the track, the ultimate dream!

Landal Zandvoort naturally capitalizes smartly and effectively on its location next to a racetrack. A number of their cottages have fitting names, such as ours, the Pitstop. The interior breathes cars, racing and Formula 1. A stay here offers just that little bit extra for a motorsport enthusiast.

Accommodation at Landal Zandvoort

Landal Zandvoort offers various types of cottages. In fact, accommodation can be found here for all group sizes. The smallest accommodations are suitable for 2-4 people. These are followed by various accommodations suitable for 6-8 people. Their largest accommodation is even suitable for 18 people. No matter how big your group is, Landal Zandvoort always has suitable accommodation for you.

Pitstop

We were assigned the accommodation with the very fitting name Pitstop. The Pitstop cottage is suitable for 2-4 people. From the outside, they are beautiful dark wooden cottages to look at. This fits perfectly into the dune landscape of Landal Zandvoort.

As you step inside the cottage, the kitchen is immediately to your right and the large dining table is to the left. Right behind that, you will find the living area with two sofas and the TV.

At the back of the cottage, you will find the bathroom and a bedroom. Next to the bedroom, there is also a staircase leading up to a small attic where two more beds can be found.

This cottage is perfectly suitable for two people. We used the beds in the attic to put our suitcases and belongings. It is certainly suitable for 4 people as well, although I would consider it more suitable for a family with two children rather than for 4 adults.

In terms of amenities, the cottage is fully equipped. Refrigerator, freezer, oven, microwave, hob, dishwasher and even a Quooker tap in the kitchen. You will also be provided with washing-up liquid and dishwasher tablets during your stay. The bathroom is equipped with a toilet, sink and a very nice shower.

Reception & shop

The first thing you see when you arrive at this park is the reception and the little shop they have. The shop is actually a small supermarket and souvenir shop all in one. You can get everything you need during your stay here: fresh bread rolls, spreads, fresh juice, you name it. But you can also shop for nice souvenirs there as a memento of your stay at Landal Zandvoort.

You will also find the reception here, where you can check in upon arrival. You will then receive the key to your cottage and a map of the park. You may drive to your cottage to unload all your belongings, but after that, you must park your car in a communal parking area. You will receive a parking pass so you can show proof that you are a guest of the park.

Games and play area

Directly behind the reception is a small game hall, fun for young and old. Outside, you will find a small playground, and inside, all kinds of games that children and adults can enjoy for hours.

Things to do from Landal Zandvoort

Although you can easily fill a few days shopping in Zandvoort, enjoying the beach, exploring the circuit and simply relaxing at your Landal cottage, there is much more to do in the surrounding area. Zandvoort is also a great base to explore some of the best places to visit in the Netherlands. We share some of our favorites!

Amsterdam

It goes without saying that Amsterdam absolutely cannot be missed. Amsterdam is an hour’s drive from Landal Zandvoort, or about 45 minutes by train. Just like in so many other places, it is getting busier and busier in Amsterdam. Despite this, Amsterdam remains one of our favorite cities, and we are absolutely proud that it is our capital.The atmosphere in Amsterdam is unique. Places like the canals of Amsterdam cannot be found anywhere else.

Some of our favorite things to do in Amsterdam are a guided tour of the Heineken Brewery, visiting the A’DAM Tower and swinging over the edge and an amazing dinner at this 360-degree restaurant.

Nationaal Park Zuid-Kennemerland

Zuid-Kennemerland National Park is one of the many national parks of the Netherlands. It is located in the province of North Holland and west of the city of Haarlem. It is characterized by a dune and beach wall landscape. The national park is famous for its beaches, vistas and lots of animals you can spot. This national park is located right next to Zandvoort and can therefore be visited on foot and by bicycle. It is a beautiful nature reserve to seek out the tranquility of the dunes and enjoy the scenery.

Dutch Tulip Fields

We visited the Dutch tulip fields a couple of years ago and wrote this extensive guide for visiting the tulip fields. Unfortunately, you cannot visit these tulip fields all year round. So this tip is only for people visiting this region in the spring. However, it is truly beautiful and absolutely worth it. So if you can time your visit to the Netherlands to coincide with the blooming of the tulip fields, it is highly recommended.

One of the coolest things to do around the tulip fields and to explore them in a unique and different way is with Renzy. One of the best things we ever did in the Netherlands. The tulip fields are located a little less than a 40-minute drive from Zandvoort.

Keukenhof

When visiting the Dutch tulip fields you have to visit the Keukenhof as well. Keukenhof, known as the Garden of Europe, is one of the largest flower gardens in the world, located in Lisse.

Keukenhof covers an area of 32 hectares and approximately 7 million flower bulbs are planted in the gardens each year. It is widely known for its tulips, but it also features numerous other flowers, including hyacinths, roses, daffodils and more.

Keukenhof is only open to the general public from mid-March to mid-May for a world-renowned 8-week tulip display. The peak in the number of visitors is mid-April. A must when visiting this part of the Netherlands from mid-March to mid-May!

Zaanse Schans

The Zaanse Schans is one of the top things to do when visiting the Netherlands. It is a short 45-minute drive from Zandvoort to get to the Zaanse Schans.

The Zaanse Schans is an amazing place to visit, full of windmills, handcraft shops and museums. The Zaanse Schans is actually a residential area, keep in mind, people actually live here! The Dutch 18th and 19th centuries are brought alive here. It feels like walking through an open-air museum. This place is a unique part of the Netherlands. Where else will you find wooden houses, mills, barns and workshops? Every part tells its own story.

Traveltomtom tip for Zandvoort aan Zee

Our ultimate tip for Zandvoort aan Zee is definitely a delicious portion of classic Dutch kibbeling, battered chunks of fish, from Fish en More. They are located along the beach; it is a short 10-minute walk from Landal Zandvoort. Their kibbeling is truly the tastiest!

Final thoughts on Landal Zandvoort 

We had a wonderful and relaxed stay and weekend in Zandvoort that exceeded all our expectations. The location of Landal Resort Zandvoort is truly perfect. If you decide to go to Zandvoort for a weekend, you want to experience everything up close. You want to be within walking distance of the beach, you want to be within walking distance of the city center, and you also want to be able to experience the action on the track if there is any. In all cases, Landal Zandvoort is the perfect base.

Many people often visit the Dutch coast purely for the beach and the sea, but places like Zandvoort and the surrounding area offer so much more than just that. It would be a shame not to explore the area as well. There is so much to do here, you won’t get bored.
