The Wiltern Theatre in Koreatown is a treasured live performance venue in our city. Other notable venues include The Hollywood Bowl, The Pantages Theater, The John Anson Ford Amphitheater, and The Greek Theatre. The Sunset Strip also boasts rock and roll clubs such as The Roxy, The Rainbow Bar and Grill, The Viper Room, and The Whisky A Go Go.
With numerous options available, the seasons can help narrow down choices, as the outdoor venues like The Bowl, Greek, and Ford primarily operate during the summer.
The Wiltern is relatively intimate with 1,850 seats, compared to The Bowl’s near-18,000 capacity. It is housed in the 1931 Pellissier Building and stands out with its Art Deco design and emerald green façade.
It is remarkable that the Wiltern Theatre in Koreatown was nearly demolished in the 1970s. Preservationists intervened to save and restore it, and today, The Wiltern Theatre is a designated city historic-cultural monument.
The theater has hosted performances by artists ranging from Madonna to Tom Petty, and its calendar remains filled with events year-round.
Upcoming shows include Hippo Campus, JoJo, Snow Patrol, Franz Ferdinand, and Myles Smith.
VIP parking may be available and they have several lots nearby, but it is a very busy intersection…Wilshire and Western = WILTERN. Great alternatives to driving and parking could include Waymo, UBER/Lyft, or taking our underground purple line via Metro to the station directly across the street. This is Koreatown, so look into having amazing Korean food at locations such as Hanu K BBQ, Genwa Korean BBQ, or Jeong Yuk Jeom Korean BBQ. You might even see one of the many well-known Los Angeles food trucks nearby.
Enjoy the show!
