Los Angeles Haunted Hayride at Griffith Park

One of LA’s most iconic Halloween attractions, the Los Angeles Haunted Hayride in Griffith Park is back and bigger than ever through November 2nd. This year introduces exciting new features like the Elvira Pop-Up Shop and Elvira’s Trick or Treat Mayhem. Don’t miss the Midnight Falls Cider Mill, where you can sip fresh apple cider and enjoy warm apple cider donuts. Classic favorites return as well, including the signature Haunted Hayride, Monae Manor, Hellbilly Halloween, Madame Aurora’s Séance Theatre, The Monte Revolta Show, and so much more.

Before or after braving this event, stop by The Morrison in Atwater Village for food and drinks. Each year, this local favorite gets decked out in extravagant Halloween decorations, making it the perfect spot to get into the spirit.

Running now through November 2nd, Universal Studios’ Halloween Horror Nights is the ultimate destination for horror fans. This year’s haunted attractions include:

West Hollywood Halloween Carnaval

The West Hollywood Halloween Carnaval is legendary. On October 31st from 6 PM to 11 PM, Santa Monica Boulevard is shut down between La Cienega and Doheny Drive in Beverly Hills for a street party like no other. The boulevard is packed with bars, restaurants, and some of the most creative costumes you’ll ever see. This event is geared toward adults, and families with kids or dogs should definitely skip the festivities.  The main stage is near San Vicente and Robertson, and there is always a crush of activity.  Certainly not a place for children and canines.

Get there early. The event website has additional information and suggestions to avoid what could be the scariest part of the night…traffic and parking! Even the side streets like Melrose and Sunset will be packed!  

Since it’s a true event, think about an overnighter nearby and walk to the boulevard.  It’s cheaper than having your car towed because of the many restrictions. Also, an UBER or Lyft will get nowhere fast.  Local hotels include the Ramada West Hollywood, The London, 1 Hotel, Sun Rose, Le Peer, Mondrian, Andaz, Sunset Marquis, and The Edition.

Plan ahead. This is another location that will get extremely crowded, and parking can be a nightmare.
