The Veluwe is one of my favorite places to visit in the Netherlands. It’s the perfect destination for a relaxed or a sporty outdoor weekend. I like to travel to the Veluwe to relax and enjoy nature and the outdoors.

I also love to explore and experience new parts of the Veluwe. We did exactly that just recently when we visited Hotel de Beyaerd.

Location

Hotel de Beyaerd is located on the north side of the Veluwe. The moment you step outside you’re in the middle of the beautiful nature the Veluwe is famous for. You could easily leave your car unused here all stay, just enjoy the impressive and massive outdoor here.

The hotel is located very close to Harderwijk, which is famous for its Dolfinarium. Also the town of Nunspeet is just around the corner. We visited Nunspeet and particularly liked the vibes of this small town. Plenty of shops, bakeries and restaurants. Definitely a place we recommend to visit.

Also the Veluwemeer and the youngest province of the Netherlands, Flevoland, are very easy to get to from Hotel de Beyaerd.

Rooms

The hotel offers five different types of rooms. You can choose between the Relax Room, Comfy Room, Nature Room, Nature Room with terrace and the Family Room.

We had the Nature Room. A large and spacious room with everything you need for a comfortable and relaxed stay at the Veluwe.
The nature room has recently been completely renovated and fully equipped. The room has two twin beds or a double bed, bathroom with shower and toilet.

All nature rooms have a flat screen TV, desk, minibar, safe, coffee machine & tea making facilities and free WIFI. The Nature Rooms are located near the terrace.

The funny thing about this hotel is that the rooms are spread over various buildings. To get to your room you walk through a beautiful garden that even has an aviary. You can spot some serious colorful birds here.

Bike rental

Discover the Veluwe by bike! Have you ever been to the Veluwemeer? With the cycle routes Hotel de Beyaerd provides you, you can reach the lake within 5 minutes from the pavilion hotel. Are you going to discover the most beautiful routes in the Veluwe area? Just ask the front desk for some recommended cycling (or walking) routes. You can also follow a junction route. These routes are very well marked and easy to follow.

We visited the Veluwe in fall, which is such a beautiful time of the year to visit. All the different colors nature shows in fall are absolutely fantastic. We also rented a bike and did a 25km route following several junctions.

The Veluwse Huyskamer

The Veluwse Huyskamer (loosely translated, the living room of the Veluwe) is the restaurant of the hotel. This is your place to be for a nice lunch or dinner. The old beams, restored stable doors and windows create a warm and homely atmosphere during your dinner.

They serve dishes with as many products as possible from the immediate area, local produce.

It is also the place where breakfast is served in the morning.

The Hooiberg Bar

From the Huyskamer you can make your way to the Hooiberg Bar straight after dinner. Here you can enjoy a drink by the fireplace. The Hooibergbar is an attractive bar where you can enjoy a wide range of whiskies, wines or choose a delicious local beer from the tap.

Pool, Sauna & Fitness

The hotel has a lovely outdoor pool which is opened from May to September. We visited in fall (October) when it was rather cold outdoor, so unfortunately we didn’t get to use the outdoor pool.

Sauna enthusiasts will not be short of anything, sweating out before going to sleep or after a long walk, it’s all possible at the Beyaerd. Sports enthusiast? Work up a sweat in the fitness center or go for a run in one of the beautiful forests in the area.

Villa The Beyaerd

Villa the Beyaerd is the perfect location for a weekend away with the whole family or quality time with a group of friends on the Veluwe. At Villa de Beyaerd you are provided with all amenities and you can spend the night with the entire group in your own villa.

The villa is versatile, which means it can also be used for business occasions. With your own garden, you can sit in the sun on your own private terrace including garden furniture. There is also a recreation room, with a billiards table, table football, dart board, various board games and 2 flat screens with iPod docking station.

The villa has five bedrooms and can accommodate a total of 15 people. With three bathrooms you will never have to queue for the shower for a long time. With the fully equipped kitchen you can prepare the most delicious dishes for the whole group. Including coffee maker, oven and microwave. The villas kitchen is fully equipped.

One of the best things about staying at Villa The Beyaerd is, is waking up to the sounds of nature, chirping birds. That is exactly what you wake up to when you stay at Hotel de Beyaerd. It’s the ultimate accommodation and destination for a relaxed yet active outdoor stay in the middle of nature.

I said it before and say it again, I love traveling to the Veluwe. I love the fact that you can walk out of your hotel room and be in the middle of nature. If you like that as much as I do, then Hotel de Beyaerd is a highly recommended place to stay in the Veluwe.
